Chuck Hopson Jumps to Republican Party

"President Obama and the Democrats in Congress just don't reflect the values of this district,"
Hopson says. (The Texas Tribune)
Hopson said,"My personal values seem to line up a little more with the Republican Party's than the Democrats right now, when we talk about family values, guns and God and land."(Tyler Morning Telegraph.)
Cathie Adams, the new chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, said, "I think it's very exciting. We will take people to our winning team and encourage them." She didn't immediately know of plans to help Hopson get a "safe" primary without major opponents, but others in the party are already working on that. (The Texas Tribune)

From the Quorum Report:
They report that Chuck Hopson's new high-risk decision may bring a primary challenge.
"Local dentist and former Jacksonville school board member says he will decide on possible GOP primary challenge next week."
While the Republican Party of Texas embraced the switch, it is suggested that not all on the right were so happy.
